Dr. Michel Provence
Vice President & Site Head – Saint Julien Site
Dr. Michel Provence serves as Vice President & Site Head of the Saint Julien Site and also holds the position of President, Jubilant Biosys France SAS. In this leadership role, Michel reports to Dr. Tushar Gupta, Global Head of Operations CRDMO.
Michel brings over two decades of international experience across business development, operations, and site management in the life sciences industry. He joins us from Charles River Laboratories, where he spent more than 20 years in diverse leadership roles spanning France, the USA, and Canada. Most recently, as Corporate Vice President, Global Strategic Accounts, he was responsible for driving growth across large pharma and biotech accounts, covering the full spectrum of Charles River’s portfolio—including discovery, toxicology, lab sciences, biologics, and CDMO services.
Throughout his career, Michel has developed deep expertise in supporting clients in the monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) fields through a comprehensive, integrated approach. He has also worked extensively in the areas of Safety Assessment, overseeing GLP and non-GLP preclinical studies in general, reproductive, and specialty toxicology as well as pharmacology.
Michel holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and brings a strong scientific foundation combined with strategic leadership capabilities. His experience across the CRO and biologics domains makes him well-positioned to lead the continued growth and development of Jubilant Biosys’s operations in France.
