Safety is the Most Important Factor

At Jubilant, the safety of our employees at work and the public at large are of utmost importance. The main objectives of the safety system are to minimize the risk of injury or illness to employees by ensuring appropriate infrastructure, advanced operational controls, safety training, information, and equipment needed. As a responsible organization, we practice strict compliance with all applicable statutory requirement. Additionally, we comply with all regulations and laws applicable to our activities
Read our EHS policy here.

The Basic Elements of the Laboratory Safety Program are:

  • The technical safety program led by the laboratory in-charges/group leader and external trainers.
  • Laboratory safety support and training by Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Guidelines/instruction and oversight by lab in-charges and EHS coordinators.
  • Periodical safety audit by safety in-charge and cross-functional stakeholders.

Implementing our EHS Responsibilities

EHS Management Objectives:

  • To provide information on safe use, storage and disposal of laboratory chemicals.
  • Pollution prevention and control.
  • Reductions in hazard risks and ultimately accidents, costs, absence and/or claims.
  • Better regulatory compliance of applicable environmental and OHS requirements.

EHS Management Approaches:

  • Hazard identification and risk assessment of various activities, right from the development stage to the delivery stage and understanding and incorporating necessary safety measures at the design stage to mitigate the risk.
  • Developing, implementing and ensuring effective systems such as operational controls, work permits, mock drills, incident reporting and investigation to identify the root cause and built-in preventive measures, etc.
  • Conducting safety training for all employees including contractors on various safety topics such as chemical hazard identification and control, fire safety, emergency preparedness, electrical safety, proper operation and maintenance of various process and emergency equipment and other employee safety-related issues.
  • Emergency preparedness is very important and an ‘On-site Emergency’ plan is updated regularly, training imparted, and mock drills are organized to fine-tune the emergency preparedness and response plan.
  • Segregation, storage, transportation and proper safe disposal of laboratory waste.
