The incumbent should have a mixed experience of working both in a major Pharmaceuticals & Biotech environment.

Spearheaded combinatorial chemistry and high-speed synthesis applications in drug discovery.

Hands on experience in identification of lead and or clinical candidates from inception.

Directed Medicinal and synthetic organic chemistry team in Lead Discovery and SAR development/optimization.

Conversant in technology evaluation, assessing in-house and external scientific studies.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience & success in New Drug Discovery process by interacting with computational chemistry and biology teams.

The candidate should possess excellent judgmental and decision making capabilities.

Good networking skills with experts in academia & industry.

The incumbent must be very collaborative & also well established in managing a large group of individuals / teams to mentor & nurture science.

Extremely conversant with environmentally friendly processes and laboratory practices.

The candidate must have penned publications & patents on New Chemical Entities (NCEs).

Principle Accountabilities : |
-
Responsible for the concerned programs(s) in medicinal chemistry in drug discovery & development process for the organization.
-
Conceptualizing & structuring processes and systems to ensure operational excellence in the organization.
-
Responsible for the SAR & Lead Discovery in his/her organization.
Scientific responsibilities include managing the team of Lead Chemists and support synthetic/medicinal activities

Encouraging collaboration with computational and biology research groups to support a cohesive and build-in cross-functional scientific synergies for drug discovery process.

Responsible for ensuring delivery time-lines and adherence to customer quality standards.
-
Customer Relationship management.

Partnering with HR in developing and building scientific competencies in the organization.
-
Responsible for optimal utilization of resources in his/her organization.
-
Responsible for driving career advancement plans, objective / goal setting, deciding on the Goals & Objectives for direct reports and ensuring a similar approach for down the line reporting in the organization.

Supporting implementation of various HR policies and procedures as published from time to time to ensure smooth functioning of the operations.
