Dr. Kailash Swarna, Sr.VP and COO, Jubilant Drug Discovery and Development

Dr. Swarna is the Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Global Drug Discovery & Development at Jubilant Organosys Ltd., a leading Indian Pharmaceutical Company focused on providing drug discovery & development, manufacturing, and comprehensive health care solutions for the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

A graduate of the University of Madras (Madras, India), Kailash received and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, OK) in 1992. He then went to The Foxboro Company (Boston, MA) where he focused his efforts on applications of spectroscopy and pattern recognition in biology and medicine for programs funded by the US EPA and US Department of Defense. In 1995 Kailash joined the Lead Discovery group at Abbott Labs (Chicago, IL). Over the course of the next 14 years, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the global drug discovery and development organizations at Abbott, SmithKline Beecham, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and Amgen. During this time, he focused his scientific and technical efforts on the development of several innovative solutions for lead discovery, including HTS platforms, detection technologies, automation & robotics, computational chemistry & biology, and informatics. Kailash has initiated and led numerous industry collaborations and alliances globally.

At Jubilant, Kailash is responsible for Operations & Strategy, Business Development, and Lead Generation Technologies for the Integrated Global Drug Discovery and Development Organization, and is a member of the Executive Committee.
