Jonathan P. Northrup, COO, Drug Development

Jonathan P. Northrup was founder and CEO of a successful consultancy practice, Horizon Biotechnologies LLC. Horizon offers services to Asian companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical space since 2004. Prior to Horizon, Jon held a broad number of management positions across Eli Lilly and Company in a 28 year career, including Director, Business Development and Strategy; Director, Market Plans and Research; Director, Strategic Asset Management; Director, Corporate Business Development;, Director, New Product Planning, Strategy & Business Development as well as additional positions in pharmaceutical sales management and marketing management. While in Business Development, Jon was lead negotiator in over 30 deals with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. While in Marketing and Sales, Jon was on the launch team for several Lilly products, including Prozac, Axid, Humulin, Humatrope, Keftab, and Tazidime. Jon is also a frequent speaker in pharmaceutical industry forums, and is published in two books - "The Business of Health Care Innovation", Cambridge University Press, 2005 and "Prescription Pricing in Chain and Independent Pharmacies", University of Pennsylvania Press. Jon is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Finance with distinction, and of Northwestern University in Economics with a BA.
